About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated, registered Theatre Nurse Practitioner/ODP to deliver high standards of patient care. The role involves preparing the operating room for surgery, managing equipment, supplies and medications for specific procedures, and supporting the theatre department throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room for surgery, ensuring equipment, supplies and medications are ready for specific procedures.
  • Support the clinical theatre team throughout the department, maintaining high standards of professional care.
  • Communicate with patients in a friendly manner, putting them at ease during vulnerable times.
  • Maintain accurate documentation with high attention to detail.
  • Adhere to shift patterns: 7:30‑18:00, 7:30‑20:30 or 12:30‑20:30, including weekends and on‑call commitment.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Registered Theatre Nurse Practitioner or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
  • Valid NMC or ODP registration with a demonstrable record of CPD and experience of theatre professional practice.
  • Clearance through DBS.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
