We have an excellent Temporary opportunity to join our Fortem team at Orbit Housing as a Refuge Disposal Driver/Labourer in the Social Housing planned works team.
For approximately 3 months, you will be responsible for helping to load old kitchens and bathrooms into our company Tipper Van, making regular trips to refuge locations, and completing required paperwork for deliveries. Heavy lifting and driving are essential skills for this role.
You will cover a patch of social housing in Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas, including properties as far as Oxford, so travel is required.
Core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. A work Tipper Van and fuel card are provided!
You will ensure all work is performed to a high standard with minimal supervision, operating within company health and safety guidelines, and maintaining professionalism around tenants and colleagues.
The Customer
Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes, and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works, and Re-Roofing. Duties and Responsibilities
Drive large Tipper vans to various locations around Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond, including properties in Oxford (~90 min drive).
Assist in loading stripped-out kitchens or bathrooms onto the Tipper vehicle, then drive to the next destination and repeat.
Ensure the Tipper is full or at weight, then drive to designated tip locations, ensuring the vehicle is emptied overnight.
Complete necessary paperwork for each waste transfer, including bookings and recording processes, accurately fulfilling legal requirements.
Work professionally around tradespeople and tenants.
Requirements
Good driving abilities, ability for heavy lifting, and understanding of health and safety.
Professional and courteous attitude towards trades and tenants.
Full UK driving license with a maximum of 5 points, no bans in the past 5 years.
Ability to pass a basic DBS check.
Available to work 40 hours per week on a 3-month contract.
