We have a fantastic opportunity to join our exceptional Apprenticeships and Business Development department as an Ophthalmics Technician.
As an Ophthalmics Technician, you will provide technical assistance to the Ophthalmics team and ensure that all learning environments are safe, compliant, and organized across the department.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading health and safety practices of the Ophthalmics team.
- Ensuring equipment and stock for Ophthalmics programmes is ordered by the team.
- Ensuring compliance with college procedures and regulations of all team members.
- Advising/recommending suitable suppliers.
- Maintaining records of goods in stock and goods ordered across the team.
- Keeping the Ophthalmics rooms tidy and organized.
- Providing technical assistance, including demonstrations on the operation of instrumentation and equipment to teaching staff and students.
- Moving equipment and materials to different locations as required.
- Carrying out technical duties appropriate to your skills, preparing equipment and teaching aids, and ensuring correct waste disposal.
- Ensuring equipment is safe and in good working condition.
- Planning routine maintenance and safety checks, and carrying out repairs as needed.
- Recommending purchases of new equipment and disposal of old equipment.
