We have a great opportunity for a Process laboratory technician who would like to be part of a large team working for a multinational global brand.
Our client manufactures, distributes, sells and markets some of the world\’s strongest brands in non-alcoholic beverages. It is a leading Western European marketer, distributor, and producer of bottles and can non-alcoholic refreshment.
Job title: Process lab technician
Job type: Temporary – ongoing
Pay rate: £14.55/ hour & increased to £16.17/hour after 12 weeks
Location: Wakefield (WF2 0XR)
Working hours: 3 on 3 off ( rotating days & nights)
Shift timings: 6.30am – 6.30pm and 6.30pm – 6.30am (rotational)
Responsibilities:
- Performing quality checks include HPLC, Brix, tritrations
- Collection of samples and plating for micro.
- Record keeping
- Testing is to be carried out accurately and in a timely manner and within tolerances to help meet production targets.
- Escalate any anomalies to the team leader immediately.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
- You will ensure all relevant Laboratory safety, Chemical Awareness, and Food Safety Procedures are followed
- Receiving bulk deliveries, reviewing paperwork, booking in and collecting intake samples.
- Lab stock checks
- You will ensure all relevant Quality and Health & Safety Procedures are followed
Skills & Essentials:
- Experience working in a laboratory
- Phys-chemical or micro background
- Microbiology sampling and testing/counting experience/qualification
- Must be able to work on their own initiative and as a part of the team
- Must be able to work well under pressure of a busy manufacturing environment
- GCSE Math\’s and English, or equivalent is required, as well as basic PC skills
