About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant at Birchwood School, you will:
Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, SEMH).
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
Support pupils\’ emotional well-being and help develop their social skills.
Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate regularly with staff and parents.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
A caring, patient, and flexible approach to supporting children\’s individual needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN-specific training) are desirable but not essential.
