Technical Support Engineer / HV Electrical Trainer – Training & Field Coaching (CT HV Electric)

We’re supporting a respected utilities provider in their search for a Technical Support Engineer/ HV Electrical Trainer with a sharp focus on CT HV Electric training and field coaching. You’ll play a crucial role in raising the bar for safety, service quality, and technical standards across the business.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with deep technical knowledge of CT Electric metering who thrives in a role that blends training delivery, mentoring, and on-site support.

The Role: Driving Performance Through People

As the Technical Support Engineer / Trainer, you’ll take the lead on delivering and developing CT HV Electric training programmes, both in the training centre and in the field. You\’ll mentor and audit CT Field Engineers, helping them continuously improve their technical skillsets, safety awareness, and overall performance.

You’ll also work to ensure training content remains up-to-date, effective, and aligned with both industry standards and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality CT HV Electric training across internal training centres and support digital learning development.
  • Prepare and maintain training environments, equipment, and materials to support hands-on learning.
  • Mentor, audit, and coach CT Field Engineers in the field to ensure safe, compliant installations.
  • Lead the CT Electric competency assessment process, supporting engineer sign-off.
  • Identify skills gaps, provide tailored coaching, and contribute to the continuous development of field operatives.
  • Collaborate with the Training & Compliance Manager to evolve training delivery and meet business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance to employees and support problem resolution on installations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven technical experience in CT HV metering installations.
  • Comfortable with field-based coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Confident training delivery skills with the ability to engage and develop engineers.
  • Knowledge of inspection, testing, and installation best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, organised, and safety-first mindset.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • 18th Edition Qualified
  • Assessor qualification or IOSH certification
  • Previous experience in training, assessment, or technical compliance roles
