Job Description:
St Mungo’s is a leading homelessness charity with a clear purpose: to end homelessness and rebuild lives. As homelessness continues to rise—with close to 5,000 people sleeping rough across England every night and over 80,000 households at risk—our work is more vital than ever.
We deliver services that help people move away from the streets, provide accommodation for those who have found themselves homeless, and offer support to help people recover from homelessness for good. Our outcomes are both life-saving and life-changing. With nearly 2,000 colleagues and volunteers, our passion and commitment are tangible.
We are a registered social landlord and a charity, supporting clients through emergency, hostel and supported housing, as well as advice services such as employment support. At the heart of our work is a commitment to safety, empowerment, and long-term recovery.
Following a recent inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing, we are seeking to strengthen our Board with a housing professional who can help us achieve top ratings across both governance and consumer standards.
You will bring:
• Executive experience in a housing association or similar
• In-depth understanding of the regulatory environment
• Expertise in landlord responsibilities
• Ability to track performance from frontline services through to Board level
We are looking for someone who is passionate about our purpose and embodies our values: empowering, inclusive, creative, committed, and accountable.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals from the Global Majority and women, who are currently under-represented on our Board.
We are also looking for trustees who can act as ambassadors for St Mungo’s, helping us build strong external relationships and amplify our impact.
If you are excited by this opportunity and passionate about what we do, we would love to hear from you. You can read more in the candidate pack available in the Documents section at the bottom of this advert.
