Position Overview

As an Associate Project Manager – Business Unit Support, you will play a key role in providing world class support to our stakeholders by partnering with the PMO to support the delivery of customer-contract technology programs and internal projects and ensure they are delivered timely. With a focus on process adherence, no challenge will be too big, and no issue will go unsolved! You will work closely with the project managers to support the planning, delivery and execution of strategic projects and programs. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with a team that is geographically distributed. You will adhere to project management and software development methodologies accepted by the organization. The candidate should be organized, detailed and comfortable supporting a diverse team. Communication and partnership with project stakeholders at all levels is a must and will require coordination with other teams.

  • Support the delivery of projects through coordination, documentation and tracking of actions, issues, risks, and decisions.
  • Prepare, audit and monitor projects in the gating life cyle to ensure process adherence.
  • Partner with PMs to forecast, track and report project financials.
  • Compile weekly updates, monthly reports and portfolio metrics for project/program status, relevant project information and governance gathered from multiple sources.
  • Maintain the PMO document repository and process library.
  • Organize & facilitate meetings, document and distribute minutes and project information.
  • Ensure projects & programs adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Collaborate with PMO teammates to grow within the role and adhere to common techniques and practices.
  • Collaborate across the organization to gather relevant information needed to support projects.
  • Champion the project management methodology, processes, and tools across the organization.
  • Manage small-scope/low complexity projects as called upon.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a project coordinator, administrator, Jr. PM or similar role within a PMO.
  • Strong knowledge of the project management life cycle, methodology, and processes.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined technical teams.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Expertise in documentation, presentation, and project management tools required.
  • Expertise in MS Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across Verra Mobility.
