Graduate HVAC Detail Designer

Hartlepool, 40 h/w, Junior

AERIUS Marine UK (a subsidiary of AERIUS Marine GmbH and part of the Heinen & Hopman Group) is a market leader in providing turnkey Marine Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Chilled Water, Refrigeration, and Fixed Firefighting systems. Serving Naval, Commercial, and Offshore Renewable Energy sectors, AERIUS Marine offers exciting challenges for both experienced engineers and newcomers.

Role Overview: As a Graduate HVAC Detail Designer, you will be part of the detail design team working on high-profile marine projects.

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Creation and modification of HVAC routed systems and Bill of Materials (BOM) within an integrated ship 3D Model (FORAN).
  2. Generating clear 2D outputs from 3D Models, adhering to project standards and specifications.
  3. Collaborating with HVAC System Designers and other discipline teams to resolve integration issues.
  4. Interpreting data sheets, schematic diagrams, and equipment BOMs provided by HVAC system owners.
  5. Reading and interpreting complex schematic diagrams for HVAC system integration.
  6. Understanding HVAC equipment and parts catalogues.

Required skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  1. Experience in engineering design processes.
  2. Proficiency with CAD software.
  3. Experience with Bills of Materials and CAD output creation.
  4. Ability to work with equipment part catalogues.
  5. Proven skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of Naval/Commercial shipbuilding.
  2. Experience with HVAC systems, including building services.

Candidate qualities: Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational ability to meet deadlines, a \’right first time\’ approach, and solutions-oriented attitude. Full security clearance is required, with costs covered by the company.

Training and Development: On-the-job training to enhance knowledge of shipbuilding and HVAC systems. Immediate start, not part of a graduate scheme.
