Situated within the Motor Claims Insights & Analysis team and working closely with the Claims Leadership Team, this leadership role will ensure we use data for strategic advantage as well as effective operations and will be integral to the Claims department’s success.
About the team
Claims Solutions are a team of approx. analysts who are responsible for providing the Claims Department with the data it needs to operate and improve. It consists of people with varying backgrounds from both inside and outside of Claims. Each person brings with them a passion for data and a desire to help drive performance within the Claims department.
Job Purpose
Lead the team of Motor analysts to:
- Understand the strategy and business plan to deliver against key priorities.
- Attend appropriate steering and working groups.
- Engage with Motor claims to establish accurate, effective and timely reporting – ensuring the most value is obtained from our new operational reporting suite in Looker.
- Proactive, comprehensive, insightful analysis and communication of key data to Motor leadership but also more widely to the Admiral business.
- Proactive identification and communication of trends to Claims HOD group.
- Develop a strong knowledge of Motor Claims operations.
Personal Responsibilities:
- Support internal stakeholders and third-party leadership teams in achieving their operational goals by providing the data and insights needed for informed, data-driven decision-making.
- Be responsible for ensuring high level department reporting is relevant and accurate.
- Ensure required data from internal systems, suppliers and other external sources is accessible, utilised and well governed.
- Keep up to date with potential tests and assist in the prioritisation through providing appropriate metrics (value, effort, customer impact, etc).
- Work with the HODs and the Change Manager to ensure integrity of tests/project ROI to ensure they have a measurable outcome.
- Responsible for Senior data commentary and ensuring the MI team conduct effective investigation of data patterns.
- Responsible for annual review of standard peril reserves.
- Play an active role during surge to provide any extra real time data required.
- Oversee and/or develop Business cases for projects and initiatives.
- Be an expert in the data available and how it can be used to answer business problems.
- Identify potential areas which could be looked at / improved.
Skills/Experience required:
- Strong knowledge of Motor Claims or Analytically minded.
- Passionate about data driven decisioning and maximising the value out of our data.
- Proven track record of strategic contribution.
- Strong stakeholder management skills at a senior leadership level.
