Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of foster carers, providing guidance and support.

  • Ensure compliance with fostering regulations and agency policies.

  • Develop and implement training programs for foster carers to enhance their skills.

  • Build strong relationships with foster families, children, and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor the progress of children in care and advocate for their needs.

  • Oversee administrative tasks related to fostering placements and documentation.

Knowledge & Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of fostering legislation, Fostering National Minimum Standards (NMS) and guidance

  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures

  • Familiarity with inspection frameworks (e.g., Ofsted)

  • Strong leadership and team development skills

  • Ability to manage change and drive service improvement

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work flexibly and independently

  • Competence in using IT systems for case management and reporting
