Whitehall Fruitpackers is a progressive horticultural company based in the Waikato. While our main focus is on our 270+ canopy hectares of green and gold kiwifruit (with a strong focus on organics), we are involved in a diverse range of primary production including dairy farming, dry stock, apiaries, and forestry.
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Workshop Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified automotive technician with experience in maintaining a fleet of vehicles and machines. This role involves overseeing the workshop operations and reporting directly to the Operational Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and machines, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the Operational Manager providing updates and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Certified automotive technician with experience in fleet maintenance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a well-organised, tidy and well stocked workshop.
- Ability to liaise with and prioritise the schedule of urgency in repairs with the Operational Manager.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
