Whitehall Fruitpackers is a progressive horticultural company based in the Waikato. While our main focus is on our 270+ canopy hectares of green and gold kiwifruit (with a strong focus on organics), we are involved in a diverse range of primary production including dairy farming, dry stock, apiaries, and forestry.

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Workshop Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified automotive technician with experience in maintaining a fleet of vehicles and machines. This role involves overseeing the workshop operations and reporting directly to the Operational Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service.
  2. Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and machines, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
  3. Keep accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
  4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  5. Manage inventory of parts and supplies, placing orders as needed.
  6. Communicate effectively with the Operational Manager providing updates and addressing any concerns.

Qualifications:

  1. Certified automotive technician with experience in fleet maintenance.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  4. Proficient in using tools and equipment.
  5. Strong communication and customer service skills.
  6. Ability to maintain a well-organised, tidy and well stocked workshop.
  7. Ability to liaise with and prioritise the schedule of urgency in repairs with the Operational Manager.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
