Harrogate Integrated Facilities are looking to recruit an Electrical Technician, to join a dynamic and diverse Estates Team.
The post holder will be part of a team of multi-skilled engineering colleagues, delivering a continuously improving schedule of planned and reactive maintenance in order to provide a safe environment for patients, members of the public, and colleagues at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The Electrical Technician will undertake a wide range of maintenance, repairs, planned preventative maintenance, installation, and minor new works on equipment, plant, and engineering services at Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust and its partners.
The post holder will be required to undertake fault diagnosis on a number of electrical engineering systems, including: power, lighting, access, nurse call, alarms, equipment and accessories, distribution, switchgear, fuses, motors, ventilation equipment, battery and emergency stand-by equipment. Training will be provided for work on specialist systems such as decontamination equipment (sterilisers, washer disinfectors, automatic endoscope reprocessors) and medical gas pipeline systems.

Person specification
Education & Training
- • Recognised trade apprenticeship with Level 3 Qualification (advanced apprenticeship, NVQ, national diploma) in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- • 3 x Competent Person qualifications in: low voltage, decontamination, ventilation, medical gas pipeline systems, lifting equipment OR willingness to undertake and achieve such training within 18 months of appointment.
Knowledge and Experience
- • 3 years’ experience in service, testing, maintaining complex electrical equipment.
- • Must display a good knowledge of health and safety legislation and appreciation of potential hazards which may occur during the carrying out of maintenance work.
Skills
- • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- • Ability to meet objectives whilst working under pressure
