This Patient Financial Coordinator opportunity is a full-time position. This position requires on-site work in Largo, FL with the potential to move hybrid following training.
Responsibilities
The Patient Financial Coordinator performs all patient accounting functions, e.g., Billing, Collections, Customer Service, Contract Adjudication and Refunds. The coordinator organizes and plans daily work with outcome-based criteria in mind and serves as a team leader in problem solving and analysis of process improvement. The coordinator functions independently and is self-directed.
The Coordinator of Bad Debt and Patient Responsibility Balances in a hospital Patient Accounting Department is responsible for overseeing the management and resolution of patient accounts deemed uncollectible or requiring patient follow-up. This role involves monitoring aging reports, identifying accounts for bad debt placement, coordinating with collection agencies, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. The coordinator also works closely with patients to clarify outstanding balances, establish payment plans, and resolve billing discrepancies. Additionally, they collaborate with internal departments such as billing, customer service, and financial counseling to streamline processes and improve recovery rates, while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on collection activities and outcomes.
