STC is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of this project, we are currently looking for aLegal Assistant to join our team.
What You Will Do:
- Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures.
- Formats documents and drafts letters in accordance with prescribed legal requirements
- Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures as applicable.
- Organize, coordinate, and prioritize all incoming and outgoing information / correspondence.
- Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and administer contracts and other documents.
- Managing files, including but not limited to, creating new files, maintaining large and complex files, developing, maintaining, and utilizing an orderly filing and retrieval system to ensure ease of reference to historical paper or electronic records,
- Coordinate meetings, conference calls, video conferences, etc., organize materials and take minutes.
- Collaborate with various departments (i.e., finance, marketing, HR) as needed.
- Provide legal administrative and clerical support to the legal counsel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience You Will Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration/Law Clerk/Paralegal
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant / Admin preferably in a Construction or Infrastructure environment.
- In-depth knowledge of business and legal terminology.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Capable of working independently and take ownership of tasks.
