Job Description:

We currently have an opportunity for a Production Operative (Warehouse) at our Great Ryburgh location.

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for picking customer orders RFT and in full, loading lorries safely for dispatch, and ensuring pallets are secure during transit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Picking customer orders – Using the in-house order/stock control system to pick orders RFT and in full. Pallets should be stacked neatly to secure sacks of malt while maintaining good manual handling practices.
  • Loading lorries – Ensuring pallets are loaded safely and neatly onto curtain side lorries for transit.
  • Stock transfers between warehouses – Transferring stock between the main warehouse and the wine racks warehouse, liaising with colleagues about stock requirements.
  • Weekly stock take – Conducting weekly stock takes and raising adjustments with supervisors or managers.
  • Weekly racking inspection – Carrying out inspections and addressing any risks with supervisors or managers.
  • Health and Safety – Working with site management to ensure safety procedures are followed and site safety is improved.
  • Hygiene – Keeping the warehouse and loading area clean and tidy at all times.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Accurately picking customer orders using the scan gun system.
  • Ensuring all orders are correct first time.
  • Wrapping and labelling orders correctly for dispatch.
  • Loading lorries safely and according to the loading sheet.
  • Pallet stacking and wrapping for transportation.
  • Booking stock into the Wine Racks warehouse from the Sack Plant.
  • Liaising with colleagues about stock requirements from the Wine Racks warehouse.
  • Conducting weekly racking inspections following SIMA guidelines.
  • Reporting racking damage and hazards.
  • Carrying out weekly stock checks and recording gains or losses.
  • Reporting hazards, near misses, and accidents promptly.
  • Reporting breaches in Crisp procedures.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the warehouse and loading area, including documentation.
