The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are looking for a Technical Trainer to join our team at Whittlesey on a Fixed Term basis until October 2025.

You will work as part of a wider regional team, but will be responsible for all mandatory training, inductions and refresher training at our Whittlesey site. You will also support the development of writing standard work and the use of self-paced learning.

Occasional travel will be required to support other plants and expenses are covered by McCain.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration with plant management teams to ensure that their training accountabilities are met.

  • Delivery of plant on-boarding, annual refresher training and other compliance training to the agreed standard and secure other key stakeholders SME’s where required.

  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that all training material is consistent across the region and delivered to an equally high standard.

  • Take the lead in the development and implementation and facilitation of all Safety Transformation training at your plant.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design new courses, material and methods and align current material.

  • Evaluate all training carried out to ensure continuous improvement and to ensure delivery against training and learning objectives.

  • To support audits by providing information around the training management systems and provide relevant training documentation.

  • Support Manufacturing leaders in the development of writing standard work methods and standard operating procedures by increasing their capability

  • Verify SWM’s and SOP’s to the required business standard and manage the plant standard work matrix and version control process.

  • Train team leaders, area operations leaders, technical specialist training and facilitation skills so they can effectively deliver training

  • Assist in projects for the training and production departments as requested and deliver findings or recommendations within the agreed time scale

  • Proactively assist managers to identify training needs and skill gaps within their respective teams

  • Manage self-paced learning and support employees with navigating the system and completing on line courses

  • Become a technical expert in all topics covered by the training you deliver

  • Work with other sites where needed to ‘flow to the work’

  • Undertake training and development required to maintain competence in training ability aligned with changing business needs

We are looking for a self motivated individual with a passion for training. Ideally you will have:

  • Facilitation and training design

  • Strong computer skills

  • Experience of required Production Processes

  • Training and evaluating outcomes

  • Prioritising workloads for self

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing best practice

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety / Food Safety best practice

To support the key skills above we are looking for someone with the below qualifications:

  • Adult education teaching qualification

  • Safety Management qualification

  • Food Safety Management qualification

  • Highfield certified trainer

  • ISO certified trainer
