We are proud to be partnering with a leading retail organisation based in Swindon, currently seeking a driven and experienced Payroll & Reward Manager to join their small & supportive team. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility (3 days in the office), and the opportunity to make a real impact across both payroll and wider reward functions. This is a key leadership position within the People function, managing the end-to-end payroll process for the UK business, leading on reward initiatives, and overseeing the successful implementation of a new HR and payroll data strategy. You will manage a small team (2 direct reports) and play a vital role in aligning payroll and reward practices with wider business goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full UK payroll cycle, ensuring compliance and accuracy Oversee reward and benefits administration and annual compensation reviews Manage and mentor two direct reports within the payroll & reward team Support and drive the implementation of a new HR and payroll data strategy Provide expert advice on pay, tax, pensions, and employee benefits Collaborate with HR, Finance, and senior stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery Experience required: Proven experience in a senior in-house payroll role, ideally with benefits/reward exposure Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and benefits administration Experience implementing or supporting HR/payroll systems or data projects Leadership capability and confidence working in a fast-paced retail environment Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills What\’s on Offer: Competitive salary: £60,000 – £65,000 Car allowance + Annual bonus Flexible hybrid working (3 days in office) Excellent benefits package including pension, healthcare & generous annual leave A dynamic and supportive team cultureThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to step into a broader role that combines operational delivery with strategic input.
