Role will rotate weekly with working hours 0800hrs to 1600hrs, Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Field Service/VAS Technician to join our team in Ipswich. Working with industry-leading vehicles, cutting-edge technology, and a supportive, high-performing team.
VAS payments:
- £155 standby payment when on rota (extra for bank holidays)
- £60 for each call out (between 22:00 Fri to 06:00 Mon and £30 for all other times when not on shift)
- Overtime paid in line with your terms and conditions outside working hours

What you will do
As a Field Service/VAS Technician, you’ll be responsible for providing expert technical support and carrying out service, maintenance, and repair work both in our Ipswich workshop and out in the field. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers’ vehicles stay on the road, performing at their best.
- Carry out inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Volvo trucks and associated equipment
- Provide on-site technical support and breakdown assistance to customers
- Deliver high standards of customer service, building positive relationships with clients
- Accurately complete job cards, reports, and other paperwork
- Keep up to date with Volvo product training and technical developments
- Work as part of a skilled, customer-focused team
- Field Service will carry out repairs on customer sites as required
- Attend/Work within site workshop when not on customer sites

Who are you
You’ll hold a City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent qualification. You’ll have completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry or have equivalent experience, along with relevant experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
Basic knowledge of computer software packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred, as is a general level of computer literacy. A basic working knowledge of vehicle technology is expected.
HGV Class 1 or 2/PSV Licence would be ideal but not essential.
