We are looking for a dynamic and experienced physiotherapist specialised in the management of Scoliosis who is ready to lead and develop an innovative new service at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). The appointed Physiotherapist will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and delivery of a new Scoliosis Service Pilot. This exciting initiative aims to enhance early access to conservative treatment for patients with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), reducing the need for surgery and improving long-term outcomes.
Working alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists and a specialist medical team, you will contribute to the development of new rehabilitation pathways, deliver expert physiotherapy care, and support service evaluation and research. Your work will help shape the future of scoliosis care across London through the London Paediatric Spinal Deformity Improvement Programme (LP-SIP).
Currently the role has secured funding until the end of March 2026. Further funding to be confirmed to extend service beyond this date
- Deliver highly specialised physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents with spinal deformities.
- Develop and adapt individualised treatment plans, including manual therapy and exercise-based interventions.
- Support the triage and referral process to ensure timely access to bracing and other conservative treatments.
- Provide expert clinical advice to patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams across health, education, and social care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new clinical pathways and service improvements.
- Participate in and lead multidisciplinary case discussions and team meetings.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation using Trust systems.
- Support and mentor junior staff, students, and therapy assistants.
- Engage in clinical audit, service evaluation, and research to inform best practice.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and evidence-based care.
