Role Summary:
Millwall Community Trust is looking for a number of passionate and enthusiastic football coaches to join our Development Centre programme. This role is perfect for coaches who want to work in a professional football environment, helping young players develop their skills while representing Millwall FC’s philosophy and values.
We are currently looking for coaches who can deliver at our weekly male and female Development Centres.
This is a fantastic opportunity for coaches who are looking to gain experience in a professional football environment, with access to Millwall Academy’s CPD sessions and the chance to view academy training sessions to support their career progression.
Millwall Community Trust also has plans to develop Futsal sessions as part of our initiative to help create more skillful players within the local community.
As a Player Performance Pathway Coach, you’ll be delivering high-quality coaching sessions to players of various age groups, helping them progress through our football pathway. Sessions take place at Prendergast School and St Paul’s Sports Ground in Rotherhithe with other venues coming soon.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and structured coaching sessions in line with the Millwall Community Trust coaching syllabus.
- Create a fun, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that supports player development.
- Work with players of different abilities, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth.
- Provide regular feedback to players and parents on progress and areas for improvement.
- Support the talent identification process, ensuring players have a pathway to progress within the Millwall FC system.
- Ensure all safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
- Represent Millwall Community Trust professionally, both on and off the pitch.
- Assist with player assessment and monitoring, maintaining records of performance and development.
- Work closely with the Football Development Officer and senior coaching staff to maintain high coaching standards.
- Manage and lead a Millwall representative team in the Junior Premier League (starting next season).
- Support the development and implementation of Futsal sessions to enhance technical skills in young players.
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time, zero-hours contract role, with sessions running in the evenings and occasional weekends.
- Coaches will have access to CPD (Continuous Professional Development) workshops through Millwall Academy to enhance their knowledge and coaching ability.
- This role offers a genuine pathway to career progression, with opportunities to transition into full-time employment within Millwall Community Trust.

About The Candidate
- Minimum Level 2 NGB Coaching Qualification (FA Level 2/UEFA C)
- FA First Aid in Football (FAIF) Qualification
- Experience coaching young players in a development or grassroots setting
- Confidence in delivering technical coaching sessions
- Passion for player development and creating a positive learning environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- A strong understanding of player progression and individual development

- UEFA B Licence or working towards it
