Role Purpose

The Global BD Director leads the sales team within their sector, driving growth strategies to meet revenue targets. They implement business development plans aligned with Ricardo’s strategic goals, focusing on strategic planning, team leadership, client relationships, and collaboration across units. The role involves working closely with Growth Solution leads and other Business Units to ensure a unified approach to business development and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the sales team, including direct reports, Marketing, Growth Solutions, SMEs, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans with senior leadership to meet pipeline and sales targets.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to maximize performance.
  • Set quotas, forecast, manage lead qualification, and drive order intake with the SVP and Sales Enablement team.
  • Identify market gaps and communicate insights to enhance value propositions.
  • Differentiate Ricardo’s offerings to drive pipeline growth.
  • Maintain deep market knowledge and convert insights into strategic actions.
  • Represent Ricardo at industry events to promote the company.
  • Support marketing efforts with value selling, market analysis, and promotional activities.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, CRM updates, and understand their importance for success.
  • Travel as needed to support sector growth.
