About Creditsafe

At Creditsafe, we’re committed to using data to power better decisions for over 100,000 businesses worldwide. Founded in Oslo in 1997, we’ve grown to 25 offices across 14 countries.

Our values—trust, respect, customer focus, and the courage to be different—guide how we work. We prioritise inclusive hiring and foster a culture where people can grow, collaborate, and thrive. Twice featured in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For, we’re proud of the career progression many of our team members have achieved.

The Team

You’ll be part of the North American Data and Development Team, which plays a key role in delivering Creditsafe’s US data strategy. The team spans Cardiff, Hyderabad, and the US, and is responsible for managing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and driving improvements across our cloud platforms.

This is a technically skilled team with close collaboration between engineering, analytics, and business teams.

About the Role

This is a hands-on technical role focused on building automation, optimising data workflows, and supporting strategic data initiatives. You’ll work with Python, SQL, APIs, and AWS to build solutions that enhance performance and enable smarter decision-making.

You don’t need to know everything on day one—what’s important is your ability to learn, adapt, and contribute to the team’s shared goals.

️ Key Responsibilities

  • Write Python scripts, optimise SQL queries, and build system integrations using APIs.

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues across Oracle PL/SQL, AWS Athena, Redshift, and cloud platforms.

  • Collaborate across data, analytics, and business teams to align priorities and implement solutions.

  • Design and deploy scheduled jobs, data pipelines, and cloud-based automation workflows.

  • Manage backlogs and support sprint planning to streamline delivery processes.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation that supports maintainability and onboarding.

(This list outlines key duties but is not exhaustive.)

Skills & Experience

We welcome a variety of experiences—whether gained through work, self-teaching, freelance projects, or academic study.

Core Technical Skills

  • SQL: Proven experience in query optimisation and performance tuning (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL).

  • Python: Used for scripting, automation, and API integrations.

  • AWS: Familiarity with cloud services such as S3, Lambda, Athena, and Redshift.

  • API: Experience consuming or building REST APIs and working with system integrations.

  • Data Management: Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, large datasets, and query performance.

Analytical & Collaborative Skills

  • Comfortable analysing and resolving data inconsistencies.

  • Experience prioritising tasks and managing product backlogs or tickets.

  • Confident communicating technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proactive and self-directed—able to investigate issues independently and seek guidance when needed.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, Not Essential)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD or infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).

  • Interest in AI/ML tools or automation platforms.

  • Experience using data visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau.

Accessibility & Adjustments

We are happy to make adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process to support your needs—please let us know what works best for you. Examples include:

  • Extra time for technical tests or interviews

  • Screen reader-friendly documents

  • Alternative interview formats (e.g., written responses)
