Signet Jewelers, owners of UK Jewellery brands H Samuel and Ernest Jones, are looking to appoint a Promotional Merchandising Co-Ordinator to work within our wider Buying and Merchandising function.
In this pivotal role, you’ll support the design and execution of our strategic promotional roadmap, while helping shape long-term commercial initiatives. As a key liaison between our Commercial and Channel teams, you’ll ensure all promotional activity is meticulously planned and seamlessly delivered.
You’ll be the commercial owner of the promotional calendar, collaborating cross-functionally to prepare for Trade Activation and Promotional Planning meetings, while ensuring that retail execution aligns with broader commercial goals.
Your data insights will fuel smarter decisions—providing clear, timely reporting on trading and promotional performance, and developing future-facing plans informed by historical analysis for key periods like Black Friday, Christmas and Easter.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and distribute weekly trading reports (e.g. Monday Trading, WSSI, Sale performance).
- Own and manage the Promotional Calendar from a commercial perspective; attend Trade Activation and Promo Planning sessions.
- Ensure all promotional tools and materials—T&Cs, Line Lists, Promo Codes—are prepared and delivered to relevant channels in advance.
- Collaborate with Finance to align forecasts and reporting on sales, promotions and ad hoc commercial activities.
- Consolidate WSSIs and provide KPI-driven updates for Heads of Merchandising and Merchandising teams.
- Support supply chain planning by forecasting stock flow to and from the distribution centre, including maintaining the Intake Monitor.
- Streamline merchandising reports to reduce duplication and maintain alignment with business needs.
- Drive consistency by standardising reporting templates, processes and practices across brands and product divisions.
What does the role require?
- Strong working knowledge of retail merchandising processes, systems, and tools (WSSI, forecasting, supply chain, etc.)—ideally gained in a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment.
- Solid experience in a merchandising role (Assistant Merchandiser level or higher) with an understanding of the full promotional planning cycle.
- Demonstrable in–depth understanding of interdependent drivers within a retail business and an understanding of the relationship of buying and merchandising within the promotional cycle and planning cycle.
- Highly numerate with highly developed analytical thinking and advanced Excel Skills.
- Ability to think strategically with a very strong operational approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
