We have a fantastic opportunity for an Employee Relations Specialist based in Luton on a 3 month contract paying up to £200 per day (Inside IR35).
Overview
This role supports managers with employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with policies and current legislation while aligning with commercial requirements and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Inform and advise managers on all matters related to Employee Relations in line with best practice, company policies and practices, and current legislation, while ensuring understanding of commercial requirements, key activities and company standards.
- Effective and dedicated case management of people related matters for permanent staff and temporary workers, such as disciplinary, performance management, grievance, absence management, TUPE, redundancy, and ACAS.
- Developing effective relationships with the business to promote good employee relations practice across the organisation.
- Provide advice, support and guidance on client calls in conjunction with managers, when required.
- Responding to HR queries as appropriate, referring to colleagues for advice where necessary.
- Ensure relevant material such as policies and guidelines are up to date, including policy development.
- Liaison with Perm Payroll and the HR Admin team for continuation of process / payments when necessary.
About you
- CIPD qualified or working towards (with relevant practical experience)
- HR Advisory background with a strong bias towards Employee Relations and Employment Legislation
- Proven end-to-end case management of Employee Relations cases
- Knowledgeable approach, able to instil confidence in others
- Solid understanding of employment legislation and best practice
- Understanding of GDPR
- Knowledge of HR Systems
- Proven organisational, judgement and decision-making skills
- Delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and influencing skills, articulated verbally and in writing
- Experience of working in a corporate or professional services sector
- Experience in dealing with multiple employee types across different industries
- Knowledge of the end-to-end TUPE process
- Experience with managing complex redundancy/restructure programmes
