Location: This role is offered on permanent basis. It is a hybrid role, offering a combination of being able to work remotely and from our Corby office.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People Services Team. In this role you will be at the heart of our employee experience, advising and supporting line managers to ensure that all Employee Relations matters are addressed with fairness, transparency and a consistent approach.
This position will act as one of the main points of contact for managers within your supported business area, including our Corby warehouse operations. A key part of the role involves engaging collaboratively with the onsite Trade Union, supporting a constructive working relationship.
What you will be doing:
• Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers on a broad range of Employee Relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary process, absence and performance management, whilst ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
• Manage the relationship with Trade Union representatives, including any consultations, negotiations, and day-to-day collaboration as required.
• Act as the main People contact for managers in your designated area, supporting and guiding them through complex and sensitive cases.
• Partner with key stakeholders to support organisational change as required including design, consultation, and implementation planning.
• Actively work on Employee Relations specialism, by keeping up to date with employment law changes and showing learnings from cases and project delivery to instigate policy amendment or process improvements as appropriate.
• Assist in the rollout and embedding of our new People Services case management system.
About you:
• Demonstratable experience in managing a varied and sometimes complex employee relations case load.
• Strong, demonstrable experience of working directly with Trade Unions and employee representative bodies.
• In depth knowledge of employment law, regulations and best practices.
• Strong communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate with Senior Stakeholders.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with discretion and sensitivity.
