Job Summary
The Maintenance and Facilities Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of both production machinery and facility systems. This role ensures that all production equipment and building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, are functioning efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both machine maintenance and facilities management, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to both preventive and reactive maintenance.
Responsibilities
Leadership
- Supervision of a small on-site maintenance team
- Assigning and delegating equipment and facilities maintenance tasks to the maintenance team based on their skills and workload
- Providing coaching to improve the maintenance team’s capability to deliver the correct levels of maintenance
- Monitoring employee performance and provide feedback to ensure quality work.
- Addressing performance issues and disciplinary actions when necessary
Planning and Scheduling
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules for equipment, systems, and facilities
- Reviewing of equipment breakdowns, and deployment of appropriate countermeasures to prevent repeat issues
- Reviewing of equipment PPM and TPM activities, and deployment of appropriate countermeasures to prevent repeat issues
- Management, and prioritisation, of equipment and facilities maintenance works requests
- Arranging, and monitoring, external contractors for major repairs or specialised maintenance
- Tracking of equipment and facilities maintenance costs, and identification of areas for cost reduction.
- Keeping accurate records of all equipment and facilities maintenance activities
Reporting/Communication
- Reporting equipment and facilities maintenance status updates to management
- Collaborating and communicating with other departments to identify and address maintenance needs
EHS Compliance
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant safety regulations and procedures, to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Conducting safety audits/inspections and address safety concerns promptly
- Ensuring all appropriate safety training is provided to maintenance team members
- Ensuring compliance with contractor management requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Proven experience of maintenance supervision
- Experience working under a Quality Management System (QMS)
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Primarily site based (some travel, within Europe, may be infrequently required)

- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations

- Knowledge of CNC machining centre maintenance desirable
- Knowledge of office software (Microsoft Office Suite or similar), particularly Excel, for tracking and reporting.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software or systems
