We are seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the pharmacy team on a bank basis, working on an \”as and when required\” basis to support staffing during busy periods and cover staff absences.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist in preparing and labelling medicines for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge prescriptions under supervision.
- Support the safe supply of medicines, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and distribution to wards and departments.
- Follow local policies and national regulations related to medicine handling and safety.
- Monitor stock levels and expiry dates, maintaining accurate inventory.
- Receive and check deliveries, ensuring proper storage of medications.
- Assist with stock rotation and removal of expired or returned medicines.
Candidate Requirements:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in customer service, healthcare, or stock handling roles.
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
