Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Management Operative with experience in drone, reality capture, GIS, and geospatial technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing large volumes of spatial data, ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and availability for various projects. This position is crucial for supporting the successful delivery of high-quality geospatial solutions in sectors like construction, infrastructure, environmental management, and urban planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Processing
- Manage the intake, storage, and processing of spatial data collected through drone missions, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and other reality capture technologies.
- Process and analyse aerial data to generate 3D models, orthomosaic maps, and digital terrain models (DTMs).
- Use GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to validate data quality, correct errors, and enhance spatial datasets.
- Implement quality control protocols to ensure data accuracy and consistency across projects.
- Maintain and organise geospatial databases, ensuring secure and efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Develop and implement data management strategies for long-term data preservation and compliance.
- Optimise database structures to improve data processing speed and user access.
- Integrate data from various sources, including satellite imagery, UAVs, ground surveys, and GPS systems, to create comprehensive geospatial datasets.
- Support geospatial analysts and engineers by providing high-quality, validated data for project planning and decision-making.
- Use advanced geospatial tools to analyse spatial patterns and generate actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed reports and data summaries for clients and project teams.
- Document data processing workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all data outputs meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, drone operators, and technical teams to streamline data collection and processing workflows.
- Provide training and support to colleagues on data management best practices
Required Qualifications
- Experience in data management, GIS, or geospatial analysis
- Strong technical skills in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Pix4D) and data processing tools
- Experience with UAV data, photogrammetry, LiDAR, and 3D modelling
- Understanding of spatial data formats (e.g., .shp, .las, .tif) and data management best practices
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
