Shift patterns: Monday to Friday starting between 4am-11am (9hr shifts)

We\’re now looking for a Transport Trainer/Cover Driver to to play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.

This role will start predominantly as a Driver with a view to move into a Transport Trainer role in the future.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

  • Driving an 18T rigid HGV (Class 2) to deliver ambient, chilled and frozen products to DHL workshops within prisons. Multi-drop up to 4 drops per day
  • Responsible for loading and unloading using PPT\’s and a tail lift
  • Items will be on pallets – weighing up to 800kg or wheeled dollies (loaded with totes) up to 200kg
  • Work in close proximity with prisoners and other DHL colleagues
  • Work closely with the Transport Management Team to ensure we train our drivers to be safe, efficient and customer focused
  • Regularly monitor drivers with telematics and compliance reporting as well as in cab coaching
  • To assess and train drivers, including SMITHS system refresher course and slow speed manouver training
  • To complete driver re-assessments

  • Previous experience within a transport environment – essential
  • Excellent people and communication skills – essential
  • Hold a HGV Class 2 licence – essential
  • Computer literate – essential
  • H&S background– preferred
  • Previous practical experience as a transport trainer/DDA – preferred
  • Previous experience working with Tachomaster + Microlise – preferred
