We\’re now looking for a Transport Trainer/Cover Driver to to play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.
This role will start predominantly as a Driver with a view to move into a Transport Trainer role in the future.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE
- Driving an 18T rigid HGV (Class 2) to deliver ambient, chilled and frozen products to DHL workshops within prisons. Multi-drop up to 4 drops per day
- Responsible for loading and unloading using PPT\’s and a tail lift
- Items will be on pallets – weighing up to 800kg or wheeled dollies (loaded with totes) up to 200kg
- Work in close proximity with prisoners and other DHL colleagues
- Work closely with the Transport Management Team to ensure we train our drivers to be safe, efficient and customer focused
- Regularly monitor drivers with telematics and compliance reporting as well as in cab coaching
- To assess and train drivers, including SMITHS system refresher course and slow speed manouver training
- To complete driver re-assessments
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO
- Previous experience within a transport environment – essential
- Excellent people and communication skills – essential
- Hold a HGV Class 2 licence – essential
- Computer literate – essential
- H&S background– preferred
- Previous practical experience as a transport trainer/DDA – preferred
- Previous experience working with Tachomaster + Microlise – preferred
