We are looking for a detail-oriented Benefits and Retirement Plan Coordinator to join our team. This mid-level role is essential for supporting the administration of our benefits and retirement plans, assisting employees and managers, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
The Benefits and Retirement Plan Administrator is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits and retirement programs to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization’s human resources goals by delivering high-quality benefit services and fostering employee understanding of available programs.
This is an in-office position working Monday to Friday at our corporate head office located in Regina, SK.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan Administration : Understand and administer various benefits and retirement plans, provide information and education to employees and managers, and respond to basic inquiries.
- Vendor Relationships : Maintain relationships with vendors where appropriate.
- Remittances and Invoices : Handle various invoices related to benefits and retirement plans.
- Support Processes : Assist with third party adjudicated disability leaves in Canada and USA.
- Open Enrollment : Administer open enrollment processes for Canada (biennially) and the USA (annually).
- Compliance and Audits : Ensure regular compliance with CAN / USA processes, including 401K audits and benefit plan requirements.
- System Support : Support UKG system requirements to administer plans appropriately.
- Process Improvement : Enhance processes and create efficiencies whenever possible.
- Additional Responsibilities : Administer vacation accruals, service recognition, and EFAP programming.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor\’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits and retirement plan administration.
- Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using HRIS systems, particularly UKG is a definite asset.
- Experience with Canada Life would be an asset
