The role
As a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to not only work on military vehicles but also explore different parts of the country.

Day-to-day, you’ll carry out routine and bespoke inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis mechanical and/or electrical repair to a wide range of advanced military wheeled vehicles to Level 1 and 2 maintenance standards.

  • Capable of in-depth engineering work and diagnostics on large, and small vehicles
  • Able to adapt to a wide variety of unusual vehicle platforms using modern repair techniques and skills
  • Adept at reading and utilising repair manuals, spares lists and modern diagnostic schematics through modern media assets as required
  • Proficient at problem solving using technical knowledge and experience to obtain positive outcomes
  • Expected to work efficiently to achieve targets and specific deadlines set by Line Manager to achieve positive results

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is a field-based role with our Warminster site as your base.

Essential experience of the Mobile Vehicle Mechanic:

  • Experienced IT skills competent at utilising laptops and diagnostic computers with a good understanding of MS Word and Excel

Qualifications for the Mobile Vehicle Mechanic:

  • A recognised qualification in Automotive Engineering with a minimum C and G level 3 or BTEC/IMI/NVQ equivalent or has served in HM Armed Forces as a Vehicle Mechanic Class One
  • B1 Driving Licence

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
