Job Summary

Do you have an awareness of risk management, audit and compliance and experience of supporting compliance activity? If so, HM Land Registry (HMLR) now have an exciting opportunity for an IT Compliance Support Officer.

In this role you will help to provide assurance that HMLR remains compliant with international standards, industry best practices, regulation and government policy and to ensure progress against planned audits, compliance checks and other assurance activities including IT Security Policy compliance.

You will support the IT Compliance Manager in providing core evidence used for all compliance and audit activities.

Job Description

As an IT Compliance Support Officer, you will act as technical secretary for key assurance governance meetings, including the documenting and reporting of key compliance assets to stakeholders.

You will provide guidance and support to process owners and sponsors and assist in the maintenance of process assets to ensure that assets are kept under an adequate level of control. You will also assist IT Compliance Officers with audits to drive appropriate corrective and preventative actions and perform daily, monthly compliance monitoring tasks where required for key controls.

Person specification

To be successful in this role, you will hold ISO9001, ISO27001 or ITIL practitioner certification; OR a willingness to work towards these. You also have an awareness of Government Functional Standards

You will have an awareness of risk management, audit and compliance, along with experience of supporting compliance activity.

You have excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to understand, interpret and make sense of complex and seemingly contradictory information and have proven communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written; in particular the ability to both understand and translate “technical jargon”.

Qualifications

ISO9001, ISO27001 or ITIL practitioner certification; OR a willingness to work towards.
