Westinghouse – Springfields Fuels Ltd, the UK\’s leading nuclear fuels manufacturing site, is looking for Maintenance Electrical Craft Person(s) to support the successful delivery of essential business maintenance in line with company strategy.
As an Electrical Craft Person, you will deploy electrical craft skills in the delivery of scheduled compliance, routine maintenance, and breakdown maintenance to support plant operations.
You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be located at the Springfields Fuels site. This role requires onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and challenge any unsafe behaviors within the team.
- Attend and actively participate in daily toolbox/safety talks.
- Use seconds out for safety and human performance tools for every job.
- Ensure all Permit to Work documents meet required standards before signing on.
- Perform craft work following required standards.
- Report all accidents, near misses, and safety improvements immediately.
- Maintain tidiness of work areas, workshops, and storage locations.
- Complete scheduled and breakdown work efficiently, reporting delays or inefficiencies to the maintenance supervisor.
- Highlight inaccuracies in maintenance instructions and risk assessments.
- Communicate the status of plant and equipment effectively at the end of each day.
- Report use of plant spares for reordering.
- Participate actively in work management systems and processes.
- Engage in Human Performance Event Investigations.
- Attend annual Safety Workshops and participate in safety improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- Engineering qualification(s) such as ONC/L3 Maintenance Craftperson or equivalent experience.
- Recognized craft engineering apprenticeship for Electrical / E&I craft status.
- Knowledge of good maintenance systems and methods in the core trade.
- Understanding of safe systems of work.
- Knowledge of Electrical Systems, hazards, and safety requirements.
- Practical problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
- Proficiency with maintenance-related computer software.
- Ability to identify issues and determine necessary actions.
- Integrity to report human errors promptly and escalate when necessary.
