Job Description
Multi Skilled Engineer | 2 days 2 nights – 4 off | 6 till 6
Your role will be to lead shift based engineering planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support. Your engineering expertise is key to our production process to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained on our production lines. Your multi-skilled experience together with a proactive and positive mindset will enable you to drive standards, embed critical processes and empower your team members to act as one and drive results..
Core Responsibilties

Lead the engineering team on shift, manage the training program, timesheets and time off, support PDP & CI works, and support the bi-annual review of your team members

Using the Engineering activity planning system within CMMS to manage all planned maintenance activities & overall CMMS for stock control, maximising system availability

Complete audits to ensure safety standards on all machines

Work closely with Operational teams to identify and resolve issues, either live or via CI
-
Represent the Engineering function in site team huddles

Use RCA methodology to remove repeatable faults, sharing these openly across the network

Manage contractor control on site using PtW and LOTO processes
-
Liaising with suppliers to ensure correct specifications and procure components

Mentor and develop our Engineering Support Operatives.

You will be PUWER, LOLER, IOSH and manual handling trained

In depth control systems knowledge
-
An understanding of FMCG, Food manufacturing, Automation e.g. Box erectors, pallet wrappers, logic simple air systems, conveying equipment, PLC control principals, batch/process line flow concept, Warehouse automation & Pick by Light systems

Competent user of MS Office and Google Docs.

Experienced in PLC fault finding

Working knowledge of H&S standards and ability to maintain them in the work environment

Hazard & Risk Assessment qualification, isolation & check for dead, IOSH desirable, understanding of dynamic risk assessment

Understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement processes
Qualifications

Apprenticeship trained & Electrically qualified (Multi-skilled preferable) OR
-
Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
