The Job:
A forward-thinking UK agronomy consultancy is seeking a motivated Agronomist to join its field-services team, supporting progressive arable growers across the surrounding region. Whether you are already BASIS/Facts-qualified or an aspiring agronomist with strong on-farm experience, this role offers the platform, training and mentorship to build a long-term advisory career.
Key responsibilities:
– Deliver tailored crop-management advice to arable clients, working alongside a senior agronomy network to maximise yield, quality and sustainability
– Translate research and innovation (varieties, nutrition, crop-protection, digital tools) into practical, profitable on-farm solutions
– Build lasting grower relationships, acting as a trusted business partner and first point of contact throughout the season
– Integrate precision-ag and ag-tech insights (soil mapping, imagery, decision-support platforms) into agronomic recommendations
– Keep meticulous records and ensure all guidance meets regulatory and stewardship standards
– Contribute to local knowledge-exchange events, trials open days and technical workshops
The Candidate:
– Solid understanding of arable systems gained through a degree/HND or significant practical farm experience
– BASIS & FACTS certificates (or a clear commitment to complete them with our support)
– Natural communicator able to simplify complex agronomic concepts for a range of audiences
– Analytical, solutions-focused mindset with strong self-organisation skills
– Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
