About The Role
We are looking for a confident facilitator and committed team player,who has the capability to work at speed, methodically and to a high standard, to join our Learning and Development team. It would be advantageous to havea background in a law firm or a law degree graduate with a keen interest in learning and development
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with our legal teams, curate the legal and professional skills curriculum for the firm.
- Responsible for the design and delivery of generic legal skills training such as time recording, drafting and research skills.
- Design and deliver engaging training modules, workshops, and e-learning content for other personal development topics and skills such as giving feedback, delegation and presentation skills, supervision skills and file disciplines.
- Managing all requests for external legal training, including attendance at conferences or events in the pursuit of legal/professional development.
- Responsible for the delivery of Team Away Days include curating and delivering, if required, the content of legal and personal development sessions.
- Collaborate with our Heads of Teams and Learning Leads to identify training needs and curate and acquire legal learning resources that meets their needs.
- Identify and collaborate with other business sponsors, subject matter experts, and external partners to drive relevant and effective learning solutions throughout the business.
- Working with the Learning Administrator to coordinate the creation and delivery of new Bitesize learning materials as required, taking input from Risk, Q&I, File Audits and Project Star.
- Collaborate with other teams to optimise the impact of Bitesize Best Practice, new HCR systems and GenAI learning materials and sessions.
- Contribute to Best Practice training sessions, with IT and Q&I team, either in delivery or design, or both.
- Ensure the value of the firm’s investment in knowledge management, MBL and library resources can be optimised and best meet the needs of users, leveraging supplier and account managers.
- Manage and maintain the firm’s library of legal skills and knowledge management resources as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Prepare and share monthly usage statistics for knowledge management and MBL resources
- Making resources accessible via the Learning Management System (LMS) and aligned to career and learning pathways.
- Provide support to trainees and junior lawyers in accessing legal learning and research tools.
- Manage and source external providers, ensuring partnerships with external vendors are optimised and measured for impact and commercial value.
- Keep updated regarding developments in legal technology and adult learning principles to continuously enhance the firm’s training offering.
- Horizon scanning with other group services teams for appropriate new legal resources and innovations is a key part of the role.
- Promote and curate content in the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Recommend and implement iterative improvements to existing courses and programmes.
About You
- Experience designing and delivering both facilitated and digital learning sessions.
- Previous law firm experience is desirable
- Experience of using LexisNexis legal resources (e.g. Lexis+, Lexis PSL, Lexis Library) and/or Thomson Reuters legal resources (e.g. Practical Law, Westlaw).
- Excellent IT skills including good knowledge of Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
- The ability to work using own initiative and as a team member, maintaining a professional positive attitude at all times.
- Ability to seek out and engage business sponsors, subject matter experts to validate and support learning initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to create material that is memorable and engaging.
- Effective stakeholder management.
- Communicates effectively and with confidence at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with written content, including copy and proofing.
- Flexible and adaptable (solutions focused when faced with changing priorities).
