The Role
Care Assistants at Healthcare Ireland play a pivotal role in the dayâtoâday operations of our homes, providing essential support and assistance to residents to ensure their wellbeing and comfort. They deliver personalised care, help with activities of daily living, provide emotional support and companionship, and advocate for residents\â rights and preferences. They collaborate with nurses, wellbeing teams, families and external healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, personâcentred care.
Main Responsibilities
Assist qualified staff with care plans, tasks and activities to support the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
Participate in activities, motivating and supporting residents to get involved
Assist residents with eating, drinking, washing, dressing and toilet use
Assess and observe the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents, recognising changes and reporting as necessary in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records, communicating effectively with residents and their families
Provide care in a safe environment through participation in learning and development programmes

Required Criteria
A good standard of written and oral English
The right to work in the UK
Be NISCC registered or eligible to register
Must be able to travel: driving licence and access to vehicle required
Minimum of 6 months previous experience in health and social care
