Job Summary

The Auburn University Bookstore is excited to recruit Sales Associates for our Apparel Department! These positions assist the clothing and novelty department as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Create displays and merchandise the sales floor with products that tell the Auburn story.
  • Coordinate with the marketing department to ensure merchandise is promoted effectively.
  • Stay apprised of current trends to influence merchandise assortment and product display.
  • Organize and maintain products in the stockroom efficiently.
  • Provide customer service on our sales floor, including answering questions about products and helping customers locate items in the store based on their needs.
  • Engage, listen, & ask questions to understand the customer’s wants/needs.
  • Have an enthusiastic attitude toward helping others.
  • Walk the sales floor regularly to monitor for loss prevention and ensure the sales floor and merchandise are clean and in order.
  • Process merchandise and move it onto the sales floor in a timely manner after it has been received.
  • Ensure merchandise is tagged correctly, scans at the right price, is free of damages, and has been brought to web orders to be put on the website.
  • Efficiently and accurately process customer transactions on the cash register when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student at Auburn University.
  • Be available to work home football game days.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to climb stairs frequently.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 10-25 lbs frequently.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand for 4 hours at a time.
