The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a professionally accredited registered psychotherapist and/or counsellor who holds a supervisor training certificate. The School requires a qualified practitioner to teach on our L4 Therapeutic Counselling Year 1 (Tuesday) and Year 2 (Thursday). We also require teaching on our Degree programme (Friday).
You’ll take responsibility for teaching, marking, and providing tutorial support for Counselling courses and will contribute to all aspects of the work of the Section/School. This includes occasional \’out of hours\’ activities such as selection days, interviews, and open events.
As our Lecturer, you should hold a professional qualification to practise in Integrative Relational counselling or Psychotherapy, or Children & Young People (minimum L6 Honours Degree). You must be a practising member/registrant of BACP, UKCP, NCPS (or an equivalent professional UK body), with 3 years’ post-qualification experience, and have accreditation (or be willing to gain this).
You’ll hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards it) and a supervision qualification or have experience providing supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling or life coaching setting. You should have at least one year’s experience teaching counselling at Level 3 or above, or a similar level, and be able to assess students’ work/skills practice. Familiarity with national educational standards and BACP and awarding/validating body requirements is desirable.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review, which will be implemented in the new academic year.
This post will primarily involve teaching across all levels from Monday to Friday, with hours on variable contracts.
