We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Emergency Planning Officer to join our dynamic Emergency Planning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the resilience and safety of our communities.

About The Role

  • Develop, maintain, and test emergency and business continuity plans.
  • Deliver training and exercises to internal teams and partners.
  • Provide expert advice and support to tactical and strategic officers.
  • Represent the council in multi-agency forums and during live incidents.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.

About You

  • Knowledgeable about the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and emergency response frameworks
  • Experienced in coordinating emergency response at a tactical level
  • A confident communicator with the ability to influence and lead across all levels
  • Resilient, adaptable and calm under pressure
  • Skilled in writing clear, effective plans and delivering engaging training

A degree or professional qualification in emergency planning or a related field is desirable or equivalent experience in emergency management.
