Basis is looking to appoint 2 Navigation and Support Workers (Housing First) who can provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited, who have or are going to be housed following the Housing First approach.

The women we work with often require intensive practical and emotional support, as well as assistance in navigating health and social care, the criminal justice systems, and other services. Their circumstances can impact their mental or physical health, and many may have experienced historic or current sexual and/or domestic abuse.

Working within a harm reduction ethos that prioritizes women’s safety and wellbeing, the support workers will help women access other services and make appropriate referrals for those seeking additional support. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you work with, including, when necessary, challenging stigma and judgment women face.
