A leading consultancy in the built environment sector is looking to appoint an experienced Sustainability Consultant to support the delivery of technical sustainability assessments and help drive ongoing business development. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team working across a range of commercial and residential projects.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering sustainability and energy assessments, advising clients on strategy, and supporting the wider consultancy team. The role offers a diverse workload and opportunities for progression within a collaborative and flexible working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce technical reports, including:
  • Sustainability & Energy Statements
  • Embodied carbon and life cycle assessments (LCA)
  • SAP, SBEM/DSM calculations, and EPC lodgements
  • Contribute to BREEAM, HQM, and SKA assessments
  • Engage with clients to provide technical advice and manage project deliverables
  • Support compliance with planning policy, building regulations, and sustainability targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external specialists
  • Handle associated administrative tasks and client communication
  • Candidate Requirements:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar consultancy environment
    • Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
    • Working towards a professional accreditation (e.g., IEMA, CIBSE, LCC)
    • Strong organisational and communication skills
    • Familiarity with UK building regulations and sustainability frameworks
    • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with One Click LCA or energy modelling software desirable
