Rydon Maintenance are seeking a dedicated Skilled Window and Door Repair Operative to join our repairs and maintenance team in Canning Town. The role will involve carrying out inspections and window/door repairs and replacement in tenanted social housing properties.
Rydon Maintenance operates throughout England successfully providing facilities management services to a variety of clients, predominantly within the healthcare and housing association sectors. We focus on maintaining, improving, and enhancing properties with a range of maintenance and repair services.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Windows & Doors Operative to complete window and door inspections, maintenance, repair and replacement (uPVC and timber units). The role will involve travelling around social housing proprieties in Canning Town where we carry out external redecoration and maintenance works. You will be provided with a company van and fuel card for travel so a UK driving licence is required.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Inspection of windows and doors to assess whether repairs or replacements are required.
- Repair, service, and replace windows, doors, locks, hinges, seals, and handles.
- Remove and fit double-glazed units.
- Sealant/silicone work and draught-proofing.
This is a full time position and working hours are 42.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm

Experience Required
- You will have previous experience with the maintenance, repair and replacement of windows and doors.
- Be comfortable working with uPVC and timber units.
- Ideally you will have a Carpentry Level 2 Qualification or higher, however candidates who are time served or can demonstrate some previous experience will also be considered.
- This role would suit an individual with experience in planned and responsive repair works within social housing although this isn\’t essential.
- You will have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as required.
- A valid UK manual driver\’s licence (Not EU or automatic)
