What will you be doing?

Joining as a Infrastructure Engineer, you\’ll take ownership of both day-to-day infrastructure support and key technology projects. You will be supporting multiple sites, deploying new systems, leading server and network upgrades, and ensuring the smooth running of complex infrastructure environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the go-to expert for 3rd line technical support across multiple UK sites.
  • Leading and delivering infrastructure projects, such as deploying on-premises servers, managing Office 365 tenant migrations, and configuring networks.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day administration of the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Azure, Exchange Online, and Teams.
  • Monitoring and maintaining servers, applications, and network hardware to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams and trusted external partners to deliver seamless IT services.
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to 1st and 2nd line support teams, helping to build internal capability.
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure stability, performance, and security while maintaining clear, comprehensive documentation.

What will you need?

  • Minimum of 5 years\’ experience in a 3rd line IT support or infrastructure role.
  • Deep understanding of Windows Server (2012-2025) and Windows OS support.
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki (switching, firewalls, wireless).
  • Knowledge of Hyper-V virtualisation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and collaborate.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to UK sites as required.

What would be desirable?

  • Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft Certified, Cisco, etc.).
  • Previous experience leading IT infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to working in the fire and security technology sector is a plus but not essential.
