SEN Teaching Assistant (Permanent) 📍 Surrey Hills, Semi-Rural Location 💼 Full-Time or Part-Time (3+ days/week), Term Time Only + CPD Days 💷 £20,224 – £21,032 (Actual Salary) | £23,580 – £24,521 FTE 🎓 Includes Fully Funded TA Apprenticeship Qualification + £1,000 Retention Bonus Make a real difference – become an SEN Teaching Assistant. We are currently seeking compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school and college, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with complex learning difficulties, social communication challenges, and behaviours that may challenge. This is not your typical TA role. You will be part of a therapy-based, highly individualised education programme that supports each student to build independence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential beyond school. 🧩 What You\’ll Be Doing: Supporting small class groups (5-11 students), organised by ability and social needs Delivering personalised learning plans using structured and multi-sensory approaches Supporting students in literacy, numeracy, science, cookery, gardening, and life skills Helping students regulate emotions and behaviour with empathy and consistency Using alternative communication tools like Makaton, symbols, and communication aids Providing personal care where needed (full training provided) Taking part in twice-weekly TA training towards a nationally accredited TA apprenticeship qualification 💡 What You\’ll Need: No prior experience required – just empathy, patience, and resilience A team-focused, \”can-do\” attitude Physical and mental stamina Willingness to complete Team Teach training (provided before starting) 📅 Working Hours: 36 hours per week during term time: Mon: 08:30-16:00 | Tues-Thurs: 08:30-16:15 | Fri: 08:30-15:45 They can accommodate 3+ full days per week, but cannot offer reduced daily hours 🎁 Benefits: £1,000 Retention Bonus: £250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, £500 after 18 months Fully funded Level 3 TA Apprenticeship qualification Progression to Senior TA roles (salaries up to £23,999 actual / £27,981 FTE) Team Teach training, refreshed annually with onsite support Free hot lunch during term time Medical Cash Plan & Life Assurance (after qualifying period) Employee Assistance Programme (wellbeing & counselling for you and your family) Ample free onsite parking Beautiful 23-acre setting on the edge of the Surrey Hills – own transport desirable Excellent CPD, regular 1:1 line management, and clear progression pathways If you\’re looking for a meaningful role where every day makes a difference, and where you\’ll be supported, trained, and valued as part of a dedicated and skilled team – we\’d love to hear from you.
