Join a major UK Rail company who have an excellent reputation within Rolling Stock projects delivery & consultancy. Ganymede Solutions is working in partnership with a leading Rail Company to recruit an experienced Technical Engineer to join their growing rolling stock consultancy business.

About the Role

As a Technical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering best in class engineering solutions to a variety of clients within the rolling stock sector. This includes services to conventional rail, high speed, light rail and metro clients.

Responsibilities

  • Leading delivery of major projects and supporting project bid work from an engineering technical and commercial perspective.
  • Working directly with clients in the rail sector to deliver engineering solutions within fleet maintenance, overhaul/modification, obsolescence, reliability and performance and systems design & build.
  • Carrying out a variety of engineering support services and technical consultancy such as technical investigations, design support, feasibility studies, RCA, preparing technical specifications, component/systems design or improvements and maintainability/asset cost improvements.
  • Managing multiple projects at any given time and leading the technical engineering consultancy within client accounts/projects.
  • Being customer facing and confidently discussing engineering problems and solutions in detail with clients while communicating strongly with various different internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a degree level qualification in Engineering or related discipline, ideally Chartered or working towards Chartership with professional registration already in place.
  • Ideally 10+ years within a technical support or project engineering role.

Required Skills

  • Experience of Engineering Change Assurance Processes & Documentation.
  • A strong foundation in electrical or mechanical engineering within the transportation or similar heavy engineering industries will be sufficient and full industry training will be provided.

Preferred Skills

  • Broad knowledge of rolling stock engineering equipment, products or systems.
  • Experience within structures, vehicle integrity, design or systems integration would be a desirable additional skillset; however, we are not currently looking for specialists in these disciplines.

Pay range and compensation package

Pay Rate: £55K-65K DOE
