Quality & Health & Safety Assistant Manager Coventry | Up to £38,000 (Dependent on Experience) | Motorsport Engineering Environment Are you a quality-driven, detail-focused professional ready to step into a dual-role that truly makes a difference? This is your chance to join a precision engineering business working at the cutting edge of motorsport — manufacturing a single, mission-critical component relied on by high-performance vehicles across a wide range of racing disciplines. This is not just another quality role. It\’s an opportunity to become an integral part of a small, high-performing team where your input genuinely matters. You\’ll work closely with experienced managers across Quality and Health & Safety, supporting the business in its pursuit of excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance across all areas of production. The Business You\’ll be joining a well-established precision engineering firm with a hard-earned reputation for reliability, accuracy, and outstanding standards — particularly in the motorsport world. Their components are small in size but immense in importance, with every part leaving the site needing to meet the strictest tolerances and regulatory requirements. You\’ll be part of a business where quality and safety aren\’t buzzwords — they\’re part of the culture. As such, your role will be both hands-on and strategic, giving you visibility across the full product lifecycle and the chance to actively contribute to improvements in process, product, and performance. Your Key Responsibilities Quality Focused: Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections of components to design specifications. Operate and edit CMM programs (QCT software), ensuring accurate measurement and data capture. Interpret detailed technical drawings, GD&T, and customer-specific requirements. Provide QA support across production — from feasibility studies and control plans to root cause analysis (8D), PPAPs, ISRs, and concessions. Support calibration, non-conformance management, and internal audits. Liaise directly with suppliers and customers, ensuring quality expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Health & Safety Focused: Assist in performing and maintaining COSHH and general risk assessments across departments. Participate in internal audits and help maintain compliance with external assessments (Fire, HAVs, noise, air quality, etc.). Contribute to employee training, toolbox talks, and the development of a safety-first workplace culture. Support the H&S Manager in ensuring all statutory and legal requirements are continually monitored and maintained. What We\’re Looking For We\’re looking for someone who thrives in a varied, cross-functional role and brings a real passion for getting things right — not just for compliance, but because it\’s the right thing to do. You\’ll need: A solid background in manufacturing quality control, ideally in automotive or motorsport sectors. Strong understanding of ISO 9001; knowledge of IATF 16949 is a bonus. CMM programming experience (ideally using QCT software), with the ability to edit and run programs independently. Familiarity with GD&T, technical drawings, and precision measuring tools. Good understanding of health & safety principles in an engineering environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel — data analysis, pivot tables, conditional formatting. Confident communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work with people at all levels. A continuous improvement mindset and the motivation to take ownership of your work. What\’s On Offer Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. Environment: A modern, clean, and well-structured precision engineering facility. Responsibility: A broad, impactful role where you\’ll be trusted to make a difference. Progression: Scope to grow within the business as systems and teams evolve. Culture: A tight-knit team that supports each other, celebrates high standards, and values integrity, innovation, and improvement. If you\’re passionate about precision, committed to continuous improvement, and want to be part of a company that plays a critical role in motorsport manufacturing — we want to hear from you.
