The Data & Analytics team within this department is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s performance data infrastructure and delivering actionable insights across a wide range of business areas using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory and other tools.We are looking for a Manager, Data & Analytics to lead a small London-based team within our Insights division, reporting directly to the VP of Data & Analytics based in New York. This is a newly created role designed to oversee the day-to-day running of the team, mentor and line-manage analysts and engineers, lead technical initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in how we structure, process, and communicate data across Fremantle.You will be instrumental in ensuring that the data team operates efficiently, delivers high-quality outputs, and aligns closely with both local and global business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day leadership, guidance and coaching to a growing team of data analysts, data engineers, and a data visualisation specialistOversee project delivery across data pipeline development, analytics, and dashboard/report building in Power BIWork closely with the VP (based in NY) to translate strategic objectives into operational plans for the London teamServe as the main point of contact for local stakeholders across departments, ensuring their data needs are met effectively and efficientlyLine-manage team members, conducting 1:1s, development planning, performance reviews, and supporting wellbeingCoordinate and prioritise team workload to balance proactive development and reactive support tasksSupport data pipeline architecture, monitoring and optimisation in Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data FactoryUphold and promote best practices in data governance, quality, and documentation, in alignment with Microsoft Purview standardsCollaborate with other Insight and Technology teams to expand data capabilities, ensure consistency, and promote innovation (including exploration of Generative AI and automation)Champion knowledge sharing and ongoing upskilling within the team, introducing new tools, methods, and processes where appropriateEssential Skills and ExperienceProven experience (3–5 years minimum) in an analytics or data engineering, ideally within a media, entertainment, or consumer-facing industryExperience managing or mentoring a small team, with demonstrable people leadership and project coordination skillsStrong proficiency in SQL, Spark SQL, and Python for data processing and automationKnowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory would be useful but not essentialPower BISolid understanding of ETL/ELT workflows, data modelling, and structuring datasets for analyticsExperience working with large, complex datasets and APIs across formats Familiarity with workflow automation tools (eg, Power Automate) and/or Power Apps is desirableExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical issues to non-technical audiencesAn understanding of data governance tools (eg, Microsoft Purview) and practicesA passion for TV, storytelling, and how data can transform the businessOur benefits include: generous company pension, summer Fridays, birthday leave, audience tickets, hybrid working, employee assistance programme, access to free courses and training, local discounts, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, and volunteer days.Fremantle is part of RTL Group, a global leader across broadcast, content and digital, itself a division of the international media giant Bertelsmann.If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please make an application today to our retained recruitment partner, Datatech Analytics!
