Role – SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism)

Teaching personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic SEN teaching assistant to support autistic students in a well-established secondary school in Droylsden. This role will be starting in January and is a long-term position, you will be working full time Monday-Friday. The school is located near many public transport links including buses and trams, and there is also access to staff car parks.

Pay-

£90 – £95 per day dependent on experience

About the role:

As an SEN teaching assistant your role will involve providing support and supervision to autistic students in 1:1, whole class or group settings ensuring their safety and learning is always top priority. You will assist in evaluating students’ progress and learning targets and also providing regular feedback to teachers on each of their individual learning progress and needs. You will be expected to lead small groups while providing the relevant resources and teaching strategies to support each student. This role is a very rewarding role and is a great opportunity for anyone passionate about the education sector and supporting SEN students.

Requirements:

  • GCSE level standard education.
  • Passionate about improving the learning of autistic students.
  • Awareness and knowledge of pupils with emotional and social difficulties that impact their behaviour.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Confident leading small groups and monitoring students’ academic progress and struggles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
